Great Gout News For "The Fat Guy"!!!!
My co-host will be happy to hear that some new drugs are in the pipeline to treat the painful inflammatory condition that usually afflicts the joints of men ages 30 -50. This is also great news for gout sufferers since no new drugs other than allopurinol have been produced to treat this inflammatory arthridity since 1964, when the World's Fair was in Flushing Meadows, NY. Febuxostat, which is awaiting approval from U.S. regulators, would be the first new medicine in four decades for gout, which is becoming more common in this country. Gout has long been associated with rich diets, and afflicted such figures in history as Benjamin Franklin, Henry VIII and Alfred Lord Tennyson.
