How Would You Like To Have This Guy's Trouble

For the millions of Americans that can't lose weight and gain weight by smelling their favorite foods, Matt Chaffee can't seem to gain weight no matter what he does. Read his story and try not to tear up!
A 5-foot-9, 22-year-old man who eats 6,500 calories a day - two and a half times the average intake for an adult male - has earned a special reward for breaking the 100-pound mark:

Dinner out from his mom.

Low-Calorie Diet May Lead To Longer Life

It has been known for many years due to studies involving rats that restricting calorie consumption increased longevity in rats. Now studies are being done with humans and the findings might reveal a similar outcome.
The findings lend support to the theory that eating less, long known to prolong life in rats and mice, may do the same for people, by preventing heart disease, cancer, diabetes and other diseases, and by slowing aging.
The notion that going hungry could be the fountain of youth has captivated scientists and the public. Calorie restriction, the scientific name for a regimen high in nutrients but low in calories, is the subject of intense research, and some people have already begun trying it on their own.

Dr. Fitness Gives His Top Tips For Spring Fever Exercisers and Allergy Sufferers

Spring Time represents an increase in outdoor activities but for many who suffer from allergies, this can be a miserable time of the year. Here are some tips for dealing with allergies!!!!!
-Always warm up and stretch indoors
-Consider exercising indoors or at the beach, where ocean breezes help keep the pollen count low
-Plan your exercise around pollen. Pollen can be highest during the hours of 5 am to 10 am and is often carried back to the earth by cooler air between 5 pm to 9 pm.
-Exercise after a rain if you have pollen allergies (but not if you are allergic to molds!)
-Avoid exercising in or near fields or meadows
-When ozone, smog, or other pollution levels are high (typically in the afternoon), avoid vigorous outdoor activity
-Don’t exercise on congested roads or during rush hour—pollution levels can be elevated within 50 feet of the roadway
-Consider taking up swimming—something you can do indoors all year long

Chocolate Milk As A Sports Drink? I Don't Think So!!

Here is a great example of how information from a study gets misrepresented. I think it is very misleading testing athletes to exhaustion and then telling the public that this applies to the sedentary exerciser. What is the practical application? It doesn’t really mean anything to general public unless they exercising till exhaustion.... Over 2.5 hours of continuous exercise...Who is doing this that is sedentary? Also they forgot to mention that in the study the
Chocolate milk had more carbohydrates than the other beverage tested. That's not fair when you are exercising till exhaustion and you are a "trained" athlete! Read the rest of the story performed a strenuous workout then drank one of three drinks. One group got standard 2 percent chocolate milk, another drank fluid- and electrolyte-replenishing Gatorade and a third group Endurox R4, a specially formulated beverage with a "patented 4 to 1 ratio of carbohydrates to protein" and other ingredients aimed at replenishing muscle glycogen stores and helping rebuild muscle.
